A shipping company in Israel has announced plans to move its fleet of trucks to the Israeli border city of Tel Aviv, where it plans to operate for a year.
The trucking company, Mecan, said that it would move its service vehicles to the border city in July 2018, starting with the first batch of trucks.
It will also have its fleet in the city until November 2021, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
Mecan said that its trucks will be moved to Tel Aviv in order to help increase its competitiveness with its competitors in the Israeli market.
It is one of the few companies that has chosen to go through the process, the company said.
Mepan, which is part of the Kefah group of trucking companies, plans to start operations in July 2019.
The company said it will be operating in a new location for two years, while the other four companies have been operating in Tel Aviv.
Mecans new location will provide better access to its customers and allow for more efficiency, the statement said.
It is the third time in the past four years that Mecanz has announced a move to Tel Aviv.
The first time was in July 2020.
Mepan has been operating trucks in the country since 2006.
Mekedavim, a subsidiary of the Israeli firm Elbit Systems, is planning to expand operations in Tel Avivo.
It has plans to hire as many as 1,000 people for the new location.
Mefah, which owns and operates Mecany, said in an announcement that it is expanding its business into Tel Aviv from Jerusalem and is also planning to move all its trucks from Tel Aviv to the city.
Mevo is the largest company in the sector.
The Israeli company is one the largest commercial trucking operators in the world, and Mevo’s fleet includes more than 10,000 trucks.
The Mecanei Group owns Elbit System, which has a fleet of about 7,500 trucks.
Elbit System is the world’s second-largest trucking group, with about 1,200 trucks in service.
It also operates in the Middle East and the Caribbean.
Elbits sister company, the Elbit Group, is the global commercial truck driver with more than 2,000 commercial trucks.
In 2016, Mefah started selling trucks to Israel from Dubai.
Mefais first shipment, in 2019, came from Dubai, followed by shipments from Israel, Dubai and Mexico.
Mevais fleet is comprised of about 1.3 million trucks, according to its website.
