Truck component services provider’s website shut down after ‘toxic’ online comment

TUCSON, Ariz.

— A truck component company has been shut down by its owner after a “toxic” online comment thread, the owner of the business told ABC News.

The comments were posted in the wake of the fatal shooting of an unarmed man in Florida last month.

The man’s girlfriend was shot and killed.

The owner of The Truck Components Group told ABC affiliate KTVT that his company’s website was down Tuesday night.

The site was working again shortly after that.

The business has been operating for almost four years, the owners told the station.

The owners did not want to be identified because of the sensitivity of the situation, they said.

They said that when they tried to contact the company they received an automated message saying the site had been suspended.

A company spokesperson told ABC that the site was down for “safety and security reasons.”

The company is now selling the vehicle in a “clean” state, the spokesperson said.
